In Part 1, I mea culpa'ed about the Linux From Scratch project being stalled, and we started on building Gentoo, which is a lot like building from scratch only with a more visible support community. Read up; we made it as far as downloading a working environment from within the liveCD (for demonstration purposes I'm doing this in VirtualBox), and chrooted into that environment. This time, we'll do some scarier stuff. Or not.
